Oral sex causes cancer of the mouth

LONDON : The increase in oral cancer cases have been attributed to oral sex practices are growing.

In the study published today, experts at the Centre for Research on Cancer, the United Kingdom found that a total of 6.200 confirmed menghidal adult disease last year.

Two-thirds of the people is made up of men.

Lead researcher Richard Shaw, said in 2001, only 4.000 of adults have oral cancer.

Previously, he said, physicians often associate with oral cancer with smoking habits and excessive drinking.

"However, new research shows a dramatic increase that has to do with a virus known as HPV (human papillomavirus), which can be spread when a person have sex," he said.

Shaw said the latest study also found that patients with cancer due to HPV is also getting younger.
